NORTH SCOTTSDALE, PRAIRIE
This client is an admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie work, and desired a home in an updated version of that particular style. The client, a Civil Engineer, worked closely with Organic Design Workshop during the conceptual design. The particular challenges of designing this home included working around a wash that runs through the site and maximizing the magnificent mountain views of Wind Gate pass.
The great room with its 20’ high ceilings has a wine cellar and an open kitchen and dining adjacent to it, separated with a custom design screen. The game room is located on the upper floor and enjoys a 360-degree view of the mountains and city lights. The exterior is a combination of stone and plaster while the interior has diamond polished concrete floors, which extend into the patio connecting the indoor space with the outdoors.
